In August 2024, Soft Meadow Collective was invited to participate in a supported residency, The Plant Salon, at Smith + Gertrude Gallery, Smith Street, Fitzroy. The residency culminated in evening drop-in sessions with still life drawing, offering an immersive drawing experience to participants. Utilising simple warm-up prompts, projections and music to allow people to deviate from their routine spontaneously. During this time, the collective produced and launched Weed Dérive: Issue Two –Drawing Edition—a zine featuring documentation from recent drawing workshops and a curated reading list.
